What an awesome race and an awesome day. The sunshine turned up as did the racers.

A super high quality field of 18 riders took to the streets starting at Cheeky Transport in Newtown. Among the contenders were Pretty Boy, Big Rob, Pommy Mick and even Timmy Smith. Mind you all wore Lycra and rode geared Roadies.

The course was well planned and fast and the group raced as a pack through Pyrmont and towards the second checkpoint at AMEX. Big Rob and Pretty Boy pulled away but Pretty Boy had a Flat and had to pull over. Pommy Mick and the Hungover Doddrag took up the chase through Mrs Macquaries chair onto the Cahill and over the Bridge.

Doddrag cracked a little on the bridge and Pommy Mick started gaining on the runaway Tongan Princess until a brain explosion got him lost looking for 13 Hickson Rd.

Big Rob had an unasailable lead as he rode the last 6.5 kms back to Newtown to record an awesome time of 38 minutes, 37 seconds. Doddrag shook off the after effects of a big Friday night to come in second in 39 minutes, 46 seconds. A super ride on the Paconi had Smokin Joe(FIRST FIXED) come in in 3rd in 41:54 just ahead of Lach and Kiwi Sam.

The rest of the field sauntered in including the much vaunted “Postie Peleton” Talk is cheap StevO. DFL went to Pete on an MTB although Kristen did trickle in an hour later????

A big thanks to all the Checkpoint People and a massive thanks to Adam at Cheeky for all the MAD prizes.

A few sore heads today though after we kicked on at the Courty then back here at the Ranch.

Great Day, Great Fun

Thanks Everyone
