  1. I think the biggest cycling culture story in Sydney at the moment is the future of the new (let me say that again, new) William Street/Kings Cross Road bicycle lanes. If we lose these bike lanes we not only lose one of the most useful bicycle lanes in Sydney, we lose the only official east-west bike route through the city to link up with the western suburbs. It also destroys the most useful aspect of teh proposed Kent Street cycleway, ie, linking western suburbs with eastern suburbs.
    I’ve asked Shane Mallard, via a comment on his blog, for some Council feedback about this, but I think its time we started getting Sydney Council , the RTA, and Bicycle NSW to make some noise in protest over this proposal by Minister for Roads Eric Roozendaal.
